Mum takes food very seriously, and is a whole hearted believer in the magic of superfoods - all of them.
She has this concoction every day for breakfast. It is off the super-ness scale.
And it tastes chocolatey.
And you probably won't be hungry for the rest of the day.
When I asked for the recipe, the list included things like 'those little black seeds that jet propel your heels'. She meant chia seeds.
For your convenience I have translated her list of possible ingredients as best I can. But the number one rule is to put in 'whatever takes your fancy'. So I'm leaving quantities and choice of ingredients to you.
- Chia seeds
- Quinoa or amaranth puffs
- Cacao nibs
- Goji berries
- Pumpkin seeds
- Sesame seeds
- Slivered almonds (or any nuts you like)
- Coconut flakes
- Mix that all up.
For extra indulgence, melt some coconut oil, stir in cacao powder then stir in the coconut flakes. Let this cool, then add coated coconut flakes to mixture.To prepare:
- soak 1/2 cup mixture overnight in grapefruit juice
- the next morning, stir in a scoop of INLINE Nutrition Lean Chocolate powder with a bit more grapefruit juice.
- top with greek yoghurt, a dash of cinnamon and you're good to go.
