5 tips to improving your morning routine for overall better health!

The minutes directly after waking can greatly affect the rest of your day and really help to set the scene for how the rest of your day pans out. Because this time is so vital we have put together a short list of 5 simple and easy things to incorporate into your daily morning routine that will help to increase your mood, productivity and overall health!

The minutes directly after waking can greatly affect the rest of your day

5 tips for improving your morning routine:

  1. Try to wake up and go to sleep at the same time every night and morning. This will help get your body in a good rhythm and will also ensure you are getting enough sleep every night (everyone is different but aim for 8hrs).

  2. Ensure that the first thoughts that enter your mind when you wake are positive ones! This may seem like a small change but it can make a huge difference to your mindset! Try writing a few positive thoughts or quotes in the notes in your phone and reading them when you wake up.
  3. Make a hot drink with lemon, apple cider vinegar and turmeric. This is a great, soothing way to start the day as it not only prepares your stomach for food but also helps to hydrate and cleanse.
  4. Try to meditate for a few minutes in the morning. We often say we don't have time for things like this in the morning but if you make something a priority you can always find the time. meditation can help to relieve stress and help to build a great mindset for the rest of the day.
  5. Enjoy and healthy, balanced breakfast. A breakfast that is high in protein and good fats can set you up for the day and will reduce hunger and snacking in the afternoon. If you find you aren't hungry in the mornings try incorporating a smoothie for breakfast and see how your body responds. You can find great breakfast options over on our recipes page.
